My name is Rick van der Leer. I’m 26 years old and grew up in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

 
For roughly 7 years now, I’ve been teaching people how to kite. And for 2,5 years with a lot of pleasure at Kiteboarding Bonaire.
My specialty while teaching is definitely my patience with people. I am convinced that if you really want to learn how to kite, I can teach you how to ride!

Boardsports to me are just the best, since there is something fascinating about going sideways! I have been practicing snowboarding, skateboarding, surfing and windsurfing for as long as I can remember. But the kite to me is just such a special addition while surfing. Giving me a lot of freedom not only on the water, but also HIGH up in the sky! And of course the warm, clear blue waters here and riding in board shorts are a real dream come true on Bonaire (especially if you’re used to the cold North sea).
